felt so long since the last update.

1 language exange
went for my first language this afternoon. it was great!
I did not even notice that I made so many mistakes in conversation.
Hope to meet each other regularly in the furture :)

2 course selecting
definitely the most time-consuming activity in the between-war period.
I spent my Tuesday evening enjoying shopping with AL in the specious studying room.
(the monitor of the computer is larger than the TV in my home......)
finally I got Macro, econ dev and global climate change in my first round.
much better than I thought.
then I should figure out the bidding system (I hate market econ.....) for my trade.
hopefully I will audit a class about JP economy.

3 info session
another thing that was much better than I thought.
almost every activity, including happy hour, was worthy doing.
I was so impressed by japanese studies :)
a small and WEALTHY program with intriguing courses and (at least) a passionate professor.
I got his opinion on my potential(?) research paper while I am not even a concentrator.

unfortunately, the dean of the dept did not show up (my classmates said: shame on the dept!)
but anyway I do not think this will be my primary concentration.

dean of my dept did show up, but I do not think her.....
a second-year student used foul language to describe her.....
perhaps a reason why the dept will be so poor this year that they only provide domestic trip : (
still I may stick to it for an exclusive course in the 3rd semester.

another thing was that I met a board member of AIT in the asian study info session!
i thanked him for what he has done for my country.

4 new tribe
we went to a mexico restaurant with great magarita.
my moms made up that that day was my birthday so I got happy birthday special treatment haha
after that we went to a bar. loud and crowded as usual. met some interesting people as usual.

5 physically shopping
thank Eric for letting me know the student discount. got my new blouse and belt!
then went to grocery shopping, one of my favorite activities.
TJ rocks! also went for another with AL in the late evening. happy to get accompanied!
we are the same kind of people who loves swimming and walking!
and it is so great to find someone who knows both taiwanese and cantonese ; P

6 there should be more to say
but I am now heading for my first baseball game here
although I know nothing about the local team......
